FAQ

Questions dealers ask

Straight answers about Auto Expert — no sales pitch.

What is Auto Expert?

Auto Expert is a cloud-based dealer management system (DMS) that runs a dealership's service, sales, parts, accounting, and payroll in one platform. It was built by people who've worked the service drive, with a focus on fixed operations.

Is Auto Expert a cloud-based DMS?

Yes. Auto Expert is fully web-based, so it runs in a browser with no on-site server hardware to maintain. Your team can use it on a desktop in the office or a phone in the service lane.

How is Auto Expert different from CDK or Reynolds and Reynolds?

CDK and Reynolds are large, established DMS platforms with long-term contracts. Auto Expert is a newer, service-first dealership operating system that runs the transactions and the people side of the store — onboarding, training, HR, payroll, marketing — in one platform, with an agentic AI that reads across all of it.

What departments does Auto Expert cover?

Auto Expert covers service, sales, parts, accounting, and payroll, plus the operational side of the store — onboarding, training, an internal hub, marketing, and rewards and recognition — in a single platform.

How much does Auto Expert cost?

Auto Expert uses straightforward pricing with no five-year contracts. As a founding dealer, you get early pricing in exchange for working closely with the team during the beta. Contact Auto Expert for current founding-dealer terms.

Is Auto Expert available now?

Auto Expert is currently onboarding founding dealers ahead of a wider release. If you want to be one of the first dealerships on the platform, you can request to join the founding-dealer program from the website.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

No. Auto Expert does not lock you into a five-year contract the way legacy DMS providers often do. Founding-dealer terms are designed to be straightforward — ask the team for current details.

Can I get my data out of Auto Expert?

Yes. Your customer, repair-order, and accounting data is yours, and you can export it. After the 2024 industry outages, data ownership and portability are things every dealer should insist on from any vendor.
